Pat Orchard has toured extensively in Europe and played many of the major festivals and venues, including Montreux Jazz Festival, Reading, Glastonbury and Phoenix. He has toured with artists as diversified as Annie Lennox, Johnny Cash, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Richard Thompson, Spiritualized, John Martyn, Bert Jansch, and Randy Crawford.

Born in Devon, England, he was, however, raised in Africa, principally Ghana and Zambia where he immersed himself in music the like of which most British artists have never experienced first hand. Over many years he travelled across America and Europe, honing his vibrant disregard for conformity into a style of guitar playing, all of his own. This singer and guitarist has to be heard live to truly appreciate the depth of his playing.

'Stirring, earnest and campaigning singer/songwriter Orchard. Crashing guitars, great lyrics and some top ideas.' - TIME OUT

Bernard Hoskin is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based near Cambridge, England. He has been performing both solo and in various groups at folk clubs and festivals in England for twelve years. His work has been influenced by a diverse range of artists including, Paul Simon, Bert Jansch, Marc Cohn, Shawn Colvin, Papa Wemba as well as English and Celtic traditional music. Primarily a guitarist, he also plays bass, keyboards and mandolin.

As well as touring and recording in his own right, he finds time to run Acoustic Routes, a cambridge acoustic music club set in the same 'not for profit' mould as AcoustiCity. It was a great pleasure to invite him to play for us tonight.

Bird 9.05pm - 9.35pm

Bird is a project created by Janie Price a half English-half Irish singer, cellist, drummer, songwriter currently based in London. Having trained classically on the cello from the age of six she played in youth orchestras and performed regularly. By the age of eleven she started learning the drums and by fifteen was the youngest female drummer to headline the Marquee Club in London.

By eighteen she had started getting work as a session musician and singing and playing in studios and venues across UK and Europe including Glastonbury and t.v. shows such as TFI Friday. Although touring and working with signed bands was great fun, as a song writer she knew she would inevitably want to start working on her own project and so Bird began. Last year's release, the EP “Early” is a superb introduction to her music.
