January 7, 2002 - THE SHEPHERD & DOG ACOUSTIC ROADSHOW

an acoustic session with club regulars including musicians from “Itchy Feet” and “The Hosepipe Band” and their guests. A chance to chat, enjoy a few drinks and nibbles — and plenty of songs and tunes. A thoroughly enjoyable and varied night. £3

January 14 - BAYOU SECO

A welcome return by this wonderful trio on tour from USA. Celebrating the music, songs and dances of the bayous and prairies of Louisiana, a little more from Texas, a soupcon from New Mexico and Arizona — and maybe a even cowboy song. £7/£6

January 21 - FIDDLIN’ AROUND

A new band that’s making a name for itself with offers of work in USA, Canada and Italy and a debut CD. Two exceptional fiddlers, Brian Stone & Bob Tracey are joined by Malcolm Cole on guitar and Andy King on double bass (as seen in Truss and Bucket). A largely traditional set, wonderfully arranged and played with fire. £6/£5

January 28 - STEVE TILSTON

A favourite singer/songwriter and guitarist, also seen previously at Colchester with Irish singer Maggie Boyle and in the trio Waz. A treat for guitar fans with a mixture of traditional and self-penned and memorable songs. £6/£5

February 4 - DAVE SHEPHERD AND BECKY PRICE

A much requested new duo featuring Blowzabella’s fiddler Dave together with Becky’s powerful but subtle accompaniments on accordion. Their performances are a vibrant mixture of jigs, hornpipes and other dance tunes interwoven with gentler, more reflective airs and their debut CD is receiving excellent reviews. £6/£5   + SUPPORT: Issy & David Emeney - traditional & original tunes with accordion & guitar
